We are up to our ears in boxes, as we have just moved! So, as you can imagine I have NO time for blogging! So, here’s a re-post! Enjoy…
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matt. 5:9
Recently a Pakistani man was gang raped after refusing to convert back to Islam from Christianity. I have posted other articles showing the violence toward Christians in Pakistan. I fear that these incidents are just the tip of the ice burg. It seems that officials in Pakistan are having a difficult time maintaining the Islamic mantra that Islam is a “peaceful religion”. I am personally weary of these empty claims. The stories of persecution, violence and torture that are coming out of Pakistan are a vivid picture of the real Islam that we are all familiar with.
The violence of Islam flows from the demonic beginnings of that religion (but that’s an entirely different post). I guess this post is not very politically correct. However, I am tired of the blind “tolerance” of Islam in the face of the realities of Islam and their blatant “intolerance” of Christianity. I implore you to pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Islamic countries who daily risk their lives to follow Jesus! Awhile ago, I was reading an article in Voice of the Martyrs and the picture that went along with the article still haunts me today. In it were a group of Christians worshipping in a Muslim country. As they worshipped Jesus they held one hand in the air and other over their throat. The hand over their throat was symbolic of their willingness to die for Jesus! Wow! What if Christians in America worshipped like this! I think our dry worship services would be transformed! Also, let us not forget to pray for the lost followers of Islam. And also important is that we do not become bitter toward Muslims. We need to maintain a tender heart toward these people, as Jesus does. Thanks for reading!
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kind of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matt. 5:11
